  • What can I expect from my first session?
You can expect to be greeted into a warm welcoming space. I know how much anxiety and worry can be associated to meeting with a counsellor for the first time. Please be kind towards yourself and know that there is no judgment. I will have emailed you an intake before your session, if you haven’t filled it out don’t worry, we can complete it together when we first meet. The first session is about getting to know one another, seeing if there is therapeutic rapport and if the environment I provide is safe for you to show up and do the work that you desire. You have the space to ask me questions during the first session. I tell all my clients that I am a commodity that you are purchasing so it needs to be the right fit.
  • What type of sessions do you offer?
I am currently offering in person, virtual and telephone sessions. One of the benefits of virtual counselling is that I can offer my services across British Columbia demographic doesn’t have to limit ones options for services. I have some clients that do mixed sessions as they live out of town so one session may be in person and the next virtual. I work with you to provide a session that works with your schedule and comfort level.
  • Do you provide couples counselling and children’s counselling?
I currently do not provide couples counselling or work with children under the age of 18. I know several incredible clinicians that provide these services that I am happy to refer you to.
  • COVID 19 Protocols?
I am currently offering in person appointments that are in accordance with WorkSafe BC regulations and safety planning. I currently do not mandate masks in my office however if that is something you are more comfortable with, please let me know and I happy to accommodate.
  • Will my extended benefits cover my counselling sessions?
Many benefit plans do provide coverage for counselling. I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor through the BCACC which many plans recognize. However, I encourage you to confirm with your plan before hand as some plans can differ on the designations that they cover.
  • Do you offer direct billing?
Unfortunately, I do not direct bill to third party insurance plans. After your payment has been processed at the end of your session you will be emailed a copy of a receipt that includes my designation number which can be easily uploaded to your insurance plan.
  • What is your cancellation policy?
I have a strict 48-hour cancellation policy. If a session is missed or cancelled within the 48 hour window the client is responsible for paying the full fee for the missed service except in extenuating circumstances.
  • What forms of payment do you offer?
I currently accept Debit, Visa, Mastercard and E-Transfer.
